In July 2020 the Vacuum and Sewing Dealers Trade Association moved all operations to St. Charles, MO under CKC Management. Cindy Cummins assumed duties as your new Executive Director!
Cindy has close ties with the VDTA-SDTA, working as the Education Director for several years before starting DIYStyle with her daughter Allyce and a team of young professionals.
Cindy has a MSEd. in Instructional Technology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. With an extensive background in sewing, fashion, business, and education, she has designed, developed and delivered programs at VDTA-SDTA Trade Shows, Universities, and many Corporate Programs. E-learning is a long-time passion, reaching students through online training and instruction programs.
Cindy started her career in the industry as an educator specializing in sergers, working with many of the dealer members of the VDTA-SDTA! She is the author of 4 books, and numerous articles for consumer and industry publications, including the VDTA-SDTA trade magazines. In the late 90's Cindy worked with Judy Patterson and Larry Overson developing the Round Bobbin consumer shows, and was the Education Director for the association through 2008.
As we move into this new chapter of the Vacuum and Sewing Dealers Trade Association, Cindy explained how excited she is to work with all members to create an association that serves their needs in 2021. "I'm so happy to be at this stage of my career, where I could help continue and grow this much needed trade association. I look forward to working with members to develop our community, programs, events, and connections to do business in today's sewing and floorcare markets."
Cindy lives in St. Peters, MO, and has two children. Her daughter Allyce King is a Fashion Designer, and her son Jon Cummins is a Home Integrator. She still has a love of sewing and creating, and often plays with her "little loves" (grandchildren) showing them how fun it is to dream, craft and sew. Connect with Cindy at cindycummins@vdta.com.
