New GREENGUARD certified Bona Strong™

Click for larger imageBonaKemi USA, the North American subsidiary of BonaKemi AB in Sweden, has announced the launch of a new and improved, GREENGUARD certified Bona Strong to its line of waterborne finishing products.

“We formulated this new version of Bona Strong to increase its market longevity by improving performance and maintaining ease of use. Bona Strong has been the original worldwide standard since 1987 and will continue to have all the positive characteristics that it has been known for in the industry, while also attesting to our dedication to providing an entire environmentally safe system,” said Kirk Francis, BonaKemi USA Strategic Business Unit Manager – Finishes.

Bona Strong has been the innovative leader of waterborne finishes in the industry since 1987. The new Bona Strong will remain a two-component, waterborne wood floor finish with exceptional durability for professional use on high-traffic, interior residential and commercial wood floors.

Available in three sheens: gloss, silkmat and now satin, Bona Strong will have improved clarity, even after several recoats, and as always, provide excellent chemical resistance and durability on wood floors.

Along with the other finishes in Bona’s Environmental Choice System, Bona Strong earned GREENGUARD certification for indoor air quality by the industry-independent, non-profit GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI). Currently, BonaKemi is the only manufacturer in the industry to offer a complete hardwood floor finishing and floor care system GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality. GEI established standards and testing for indoor products with the goal of improving public health by helping manufacturers build safer products. These products will not pollute the air with harmful levels of dangerous chemicals or particulates.

Bona Strong now has a low VOC content (less than 235 g/L), fast dry time and has no harmful fumes, so customers do not have to vacate their homes or businesses during refinishing.
