American Sewing Guild visits Baby Lock headquarters

Tacony Corporation rolled out the red carpet for the American Sewing Guild (ASG) on April 18, 2008. ASG members from 11 states were in the St. Louis area for their annual Regional Conference. Eighty guild members made a special stop at Tacony’s headquarters in Fenton, MO, to tour the facility and get a sneak peak, which is home to Baby Lock sewing machines. 

ASG members were greeted by Ken Tacony, CEO of Tacony Corporation, who gave the upbeat and excited group a warm welcome, plus a brief history of the corporation. They also enjoyed a full tour of Tacony’s facilities, which included the sales and marketing departments for all sewing brands, as well as a spacious sewing lab, an in-house advertising department and print shop, and a state-of-the-art distribution warehouse.

“The ladies were beaming when they got back from the tour, and they thought Tacony was great!” said Sharon Sullivan, who is part of Tacony’s Quality Assurance and Product Development Team, as well as a fellow ASG member.

Finally, guild members were treated to a variety of presentations that provided a behind-the-scenes look at a sewing machine company. Tacony employees were pleased to explain the process of creating a new machine, marketing new products and more. Guild members were also given a sneak peak of upcoming events and new products. The best part? At the end of the two-hour event, each woman received a gift bag of Baby Lock and Sewing with Nancy products.

“For those of us who love sewing, the best part of the day was seeing how enthused the ASG members were to visit their Baby lock dealers and get going on their next projects,” said Tacony Senior Vice President Amy Hinderer.
