Do you want to increase your serger sales?

Kaye Wood & Mary Kaeser will show you how during the LoveQuilt Connection Certification Event at the 2010 VDTA/SDTA Show March 25 & 26, Las Vegas

The LoveQuiltConnection will be offered as a Teacher Certification Class on March 25-26, 2010, during the 2010 VDTA/SDTA Trade Show & Convention in Las Vegas. The certification event will be set up in the exhibit hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The purpose of the class is to help you, as an independent dealer, start a program so you can sell sergers to the public and to the schools.

The class introduction will be presented by Kaye Wood of Kaye Wood Inc. and Mary Kaeser, national coordinator for the LoveQuiltConnection events. During the introduction, you will learn the basics of the program and how to set up the LoveQuiltConnection to make charity quilts. You’ll learn how to set it up as a community service project and find out how you can include youth groups such as Scout Troups and 4-H members. The end result of setting up such programs in your area will be increased serger sales and more traffic in your store.

Following the introduction, a sample of the quilt will be made during the sit-and-serge part of the class. The sit-and-serge portion will last for three to four hours. After the class, you will earn your certification status, and then as a certified teacher, you can set up your own classes and events under the LoveQuiltConnection banner.

If you are interested and want to participate, you’ll need to pre-register by calling VDTA/SDTA at 1-800-367-5651 or pre-register online at www.vdta.com.

CLASS FEE is $90 which includes a copy of the book and DVD of the 6-Hour Quilt.

You will also need to bring the following with you to the convention for this class:

  • a 4-thread serger (or arrange with an exhibiting sewing machine manufacturer to use a serger)
  • thread
  • extra needles
  • rotary cutter
  • mat
  • 6”x12” ruler
  • fabric: 6 coordinating fabrics (1 yard of each, cut into 6" x 42"/44" strips)
  • batting (Twin size). Do not cut batting strips.

The quilt made in class is the medium size 37" x 49". You will keep your own quilt as a class sample.
