Ronald Smeltzer, owner of Endicott Sewing Center in Endwell, New York, began his long and distinguished career in sewing machine sales in 1954 as an outside sales representative with the Singer Company. He was named Salesman of the Year for upstate New York in 1956 and went on to manage a number of company stores in the New York area. In 1966, Ron became district sales manager, a post he held until opening his first sewing machine dealership in 1978. During his 24 year career with Singer, Ron was consistently one of the company’s top salespeople.

Since opening his first store, Ron has used his sales and service expertise to give his customers high quality products, customer service and repairs. Together with his wife Doris, Ron has operated as many as three sewing machine dealerships in the New York area. With Ron’s hands-on management, Endicott Sewing Center has become one of the top sewing machine dealerships in the United States.

Throughout his career, Ron has stood out for his ability to sell sewing machines. He has won numerous awards from the Singer Company, including the National Sales Demonstration award and District Leadership award, in addition to being named to the company’s President’s Council and President’s Circle. Ron has received recognition awards from Pfaff and Baby Lock, as well.

Ron has shared his skill and experience with other sewing machine dealers by addressing a variety of industry groups. He has given presentations on running a high volume, profitable in-store operation at several Singer national conventions.
