Lester S. Mullis
Lester S. Mullis was born June 20, 1953, in Ashe Co., North Carolina. At nine years of age Lester was fascinated with his grandmother’s treadle machine. This carried over into his adult life when he started his own repair business at home while working as a technician for Hanes Knitwear. Eventually he opened Ashe Sewing Center where he sells Singer machines. Lester was the No. 1 dealer in the Carolina Region in 1992. He owns a US Patent and is in the process of patenting his own serger. He has developed many new methods of using Singer products and has taught them at Singer Academies. Lester won first place in the Singer Fashion Show for his embroidery of “The Virginia Creeper.”
Lester’s enthusiasm, product knowledge, selling skills and creative marketing ideas make him one of the top sewing machine dealers in the Carolinas. He is a skilled and trusted repairman who does business all over the South. Lester says service is the key to his success. His love of the Singer product shows in his in-store seminars and classes as well as the “home parties” he conducts. Lester treats each customer special taking the time to listen and make sure they are happy with the service. He also makes sure that they know as much about their newly purchased machine as he can teach them.
