1929 —

Harry’s distinguished 37-year career with The Hoover Company began in 1956 when he was hired as a field auditor in Boston, Massachusetts.

Two years later, he was named assistant manager in the factory service department at Hoover headquarters in North Canton, Ohio. From that time on, he moved up in the service organization with successive promotions, including service specialist, general service manager, national service manager, and in 1991, national service director.

Kennedy is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration. He retired from Hoover in December 1993, but remains active as a volunteer for the Hoover Historical Center.

He and his wife Peggy have four children, five grandchildren, and reside in North Canton, Ohio, for most of the year, the balance of the time at their second home in Hilton Head, S.C., and visiting their children and grandchildren.
