Lawrence A. Gittleman
President, Acme Vacuum
1946 —

Lawrence A. Gittleman’s family has been in the small appliance service business for over 50 years. His background also includes banking. He was employed as a branch manager of a savings and loan, then later joined his father in the family business in Brooklyn, NY, and took over the business after his father’s retirement. Lawrence expanded the business in Brooklyn and then acquired Acme Vacuum in Raritan, New Jersey. Since that time, Lawrence has consistently increased Acme’s total sales of all Oreck products for the past eight years.

Lawrence has always maintained an open line of communication with all independent vacuum dealers, even encouraging them to call him for assistance. He has, on many occasions, helped other local dealers by sharing inventory as well as promotional ideas and sales techniques to enhance the sale of Oreck products in the New Jersey market. Finally, Larry’s knowledge of the Oreck product line has assisted many dealers and company personnel in solving both product and sales technique problems.

Lawrence has continually furthered his education in business and marketing by studying such sales and marketing champions as Tom Hopkins and Zig Ziglar. He has developed Acme Vacuum into one of the biggest Oreck floor care centers, using his skills and dedication. His awards and recognition include Graduate of Tom Hopkins International Academy of Master Closing, July 1991, Oreck Sales Champion in 1991-1992, Oreck Special Recognition Award and Oreck Dealer Platinum Award in 1994.

Lawrence A. Gittleman was born August 12, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York.
