Robert Cutter
Bob was born in Milwaukee, WI, on March 23, 1926. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. On August 26, 1949, he married Lillian Hilt, and two months later he started selling Kirby vacuums. Originally calling the business Cutter Kirby, with as many as 35 employees, Bob changed the business name in 1981 to Cutter Vac and started selling all brands of vacuums. He operated up to four stores and then settled down to two stores in 1986. In January of 1997, Bob semi-retired and sold his stores in Sheboygan and Fond du Lac. During his career in the vacuum industry, Bob has accomplished much. He has been presented with three President Achievement Awards from Kirby, two Quota Buster Awards from Kirby, a Sales and Merchandising Award of the Year from Eureka, Distributor of the Month Award from Bison Co., a 25-Year Service Award from Kirby, and a Master Dealer Club Award from Royal. He is also now a member of the VDTA Hall of Fame. Robert Cutter passed away February 2006. 2000 Vacuum & Sewing Hall of Fame Inductee |
