Gary Collins has been in the floor care business over four decades. He started in 1970 as a salesman for the Hoover Company, doing machine demos in some of the larger Philadelphia stores. He worked his way up to become area manager, and was such a dynamic salesperson that he caught the eye of the regional manager of the Eureka Company.
In 1975, he was offered a high level sales position, quickly moving up the ladder, winning numerous sales contests, and finally becoming a Eureka Branch Manager, where he stayed until 1991.
After a couple of years working with a rep agency that handled the Dirt Devil brand, he then moved to Sharp Electronics in 1993 where he was East Coast, Southwest and National Accounts Sales Manager for Floor Care, developing programs during the time when they were the #1 Consumer Reports branded vacuum.
Sharp began to wind down its Floor Care program, and Gary joined Sanyo Electronics as their National Sales Manager for Floor Care to help them get their vacuum cleaners placed with the distributors and independent dealers.
In 2001, he went to Home Care Industries, and in 2006 he joined EnviroCare Technologies, where he is in charge of distributor/dealer sales.
Gary is highly regarded in this industry because he has served the needs of others with the products and education necessary for the independent to thrive. He has inspired, educated and given to others unselfishly. His eagerness to share information with others and the programs he has spearheaded have truly made a difference.
