Robert (Bob) Boffoli
Cape Cod Vacuum Mart
1958 –

Bob BoffoliBob Boffoli was the youngest child in a family of eight born in the city of Worcester, MA. His father, Joseph Boffoli, worked hard selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door to support his large family. When Bob was 10 years old, his mother, Theresa, passed away and Bob would often accompany his father while he was on the road selling vacuums. This was the beginning of Bob’s interest in the vacuum industry.

In 1970, Bob’s father moved his family to the shores of New England and opened up Cape Cod’s first vacuum specialty store. After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1979, Bob joined his father in the business while earning a degree at Cape Cod Community College. Bob worked hard to turn the small shop into a modern floor care center and soon expanded its size as well as adding a second location. By 1985, Bob had increased the central vacuum portion of his business and had added a full-time installation crew to compliment his retail operation. Before long a separate division of Cape Cod Vacuum Mart was started and Central Vacuum Supply, a wholesale operation, was well under way.

Bob, along with Ron, his brother and partner, have built Cape Cod Vacuum Mart, Inc., into one of the largest volume vacuum specialty stores in the United States. They have been “Sales Representative Volume Leader” for M.D. Manufacturing for more than a decade as well as receiving the Miele Appliance Award for “Outstanding Sales and Service” every year since 1986. Bob is a charter member of the Vacuum Dealers Trade Association and won the title of “Vacuum Cleaner Salesman of the Year” in 1995. He has held many seminars for the VDTA over the years and is always looking for ways to advance his business and the industry as a whole.

Both personally and through the business, Bob supports many local charity events as well as sports programs throughout Cape Cod and is a true presence in his community.
