Curt E. Arvidson
Curt Arvidson, President of Elna, Inc. and Elna International Corporation, has been a tremendous supporter of the sewing machine industry for more than two decades. His tireless efforts to promote and enhance the sewing industry have helped independent sewing machine dealers grow and prosper. With his contributions, the entire industry is on the increase as it enters the 21st century.
As President of Elna, Inc. since 1986, and of the White-Elna Sewing Machine Company before that, Curt has been instrumental in developing programs to increase public interest in sewing. Projects to stimulate young people’s interest in sewing have been a high priority for Curt. During the 1980’s, he served on the Board of American Home Sewing and Craft Association which developed sewing commercials geared for young people to air on Music Television (MTV). For many years, he has worked closely with 4-H Councils across the United States to develop youth sewing programs, contests and awards.
Curt began his career with AB Electrolux in Sweden. His vast business experience has come from Sweden, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the United States. Since coming to the U.S., he has worked hard on behalf of independent sewing machine dealers. He has built up a tremendous network of dedicated and loyal dealers, who have greatly benefitted from his efforts.
As a person, Curt is devoted to his family and his extended family of employees. In the sewing machine business, he has devoted his career to the industry’s success.
