Elna Sewing Machines
Elna sewing machines were first designed and manufactured by Tavaro, S.A., and founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1934. Early Elna sewing machines brought many “firsts” to the home sewing market. Elna was the first compact, portable electronic sewing machine with a free arm, the first electronic speed control operated by air pressure, the first five-thread serger for the home sewer, and the first computerized serger. Many of the stitches found on today’s most popular brands of sewing machines were first introduced by Elna. In 1996, to better serve the expanding U.S. market, United States distribution rights were transferred to Tacony Corporation and Elna USA was born.
Elna USA continues to bring high quality niche products to the sewing market place. Elna sewing machines and sergers are known for their reliability, quality, ease of operation, and elegant design. Staying in tune with the current sewing trends, Elna develops their line of sewing machines with stitches and functions that cater to a specific creative market, and encourages customers that they should “explore the art” in all of their products. Whether it’s quilting, embroidery, heirloom or serging, Elna has the right machine for the right customer.
Authorized Elna dealers are brand and territory protected. Elna sewing machines and sergers are only distributed to independent dealers. You won’t find these products in catalogs or sold by mass merchants. Elna USA is committed to providing Elna dealers with better service, quality product development, advanced education, and continued marketing support to ensure continued prosperity and growth in the world’s largest market for sewing machines.
Elna’s national advertising program creates brand identity and will acquaint customers with major features of Elna products. Elna ads can be found in many of today’s national sewing and quilting publications. To encourage and support local advertising, Elna has a co-op program based on purchases.
Training and education are important parts of any program. Elna USA’s staff of expert regional managers, educators, and technicians provide comprehensive training for their dealers, available both regionally and at Tacony’s corporate office. Technical service and repair training is also part of the Elna USA educational package.
